OUR BRAINS

For some reason this morning I was led to reading about the brain.  I loved learning about the brain when I was working on my master degree.  Did you know that your brain is always learning?  You are never too old to learn?  Learning new things actually helps the brain.  The brain is a very positive thing, but it can also be negative if we let it get that way.  It all depends on what we are thinking.

One book “The Secret” (Rhonda Byrne) reveals how the brain attracts different things through the laws of attraction.  It is all in the power of positive thinking, changing what attracts your mind.  Only letting the positive rule and not the negative.  Be thankful and give thanks for everything going on in your life.  Envision yourself happy and healthy.  What would you look like?  Keep this vision in your brain and visit it daily.

This is also a large part of “The Daniel Plan.”  Lets face it our brains are a part of everything we do.  If we focus on the positive we will be positive.  If we focus on the negative we will be negative.  Part of success of “The Daniel Plan” is staying focused on what we should be focused on.  When your brain is healthy and focusing on the positive you are able to make better decisions and therefore you are healthy mind, body, and soul.

At times in my life this has been difficult.  My brain will wonder down the road where it shouldn’t go.  My thoughts will be like a magnet with a strong force holding on to the negative that linger in my brain.  What I do now is protect my brain.  How do I do that?  Every time my brain starts to travel down the wrong path or start to root in a bad place I pray.  I go into my quiet state and talk to the Lord.  It may take me a few minutes or it may take a whole day, but I continually pray.  Guess what? It works.  He brings me out of the dark and into the light.

So what is my secret to having positive thoughts?  Have a magnetic attraction to The Lord, He can do it all!
