THE HUNT

I live in a hunting community.  A place where people wear camouflage and the biggest store in town is a premier waterfowl outfitter.   Duck hunting, deer hunting, goose hunting, even alligator hunting is enjoyed within the radius of many miles.  Thank goodness every type of hunting has its own season.  During the off-season our town and the animals get a break.

Are you a hunter?  You probably are and just don’t realize it. Do you have a store where you shop for items you need for the hunt?  Do you clothe yourself in the proper attire for the hunt?  Are you in your off season or is your season of hunting on?

We are all hunters. During some seasons we find ourselves content, but then at other times we are searching.  Hunting for a cure or maybe just an answer.  Hunting for hope or maybe wisdom.  Hunting for love or just companionship.  Hunting for joy and or just a safe place to find shelter.

Ask yourself the question:  What am I hunting for?

Whatever type of hunt you are on there are several things you must do in preparation.

1.     Decide what hunt you are going on.  Where and when is it going to take place.  (Go to the Lord with your hunt.  Remember it is His timing not yours.  He will lead you to the place where you need to be.)
2.     Get some information about the hunt; gain some knowledge and wisdom on how to hunt the certain thing you are hunting for.  (God has the wisdom you need for any hunt.  Go to Him in prayer)
3.     Gather you ammunition.  (The Lord has your ammunition.  Put on the armor of God and you are ready for your trek through the wilderness)
4.     Understand whatever you are hunting for may not show up for the hunt like you have.  (The answer may not be immediate.   God’s timing and wisdom are perfect.  Just wait.)

No matter what you are hunting for there is a one-stop shop that has everything you need and God is it.  Prepare with Him, clothe yourself with Him and then venture out into the wilderness with Him.  He will guide you so that your hunt is a successful one.
