Every time I turned around I was being interrupted. If I don’t get my writing completed early in
the morning, while no one else is up and going, I can’t get it finished. This morning has been one of those days. The phone starts ringing; text begins, everyone
in the world is ready for the day to begin.
Have you ever been stopped in life? You were going along as planned and then your
life was interrupted. This interruption
is a complete roadblock that moves you into a detour on your journey. One of my favorite books was written by
Priscilla Shirer, “Life Interrupted.” In
this wonderful book it explains how you can’t look at these turns in the road
as an interruption, but a divine intervention.
Is God or has God interrupted your life? Did you resist the interruption or accept
it?
When our lives are interrupted we have two choices, resist
or accept. God has plans for our lives
and they aren’t bad ones. These plans
will play out for our welfare as the good for others. When on the detour we must learn how to
discern his voice. Go to His word and
find clarity. Allow His words to dwell
within you guiding you through His plans.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares
the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God knows our future. He knows all about
the interruptions that occur in our lives.
He knows that the plans He has for us are good and full of hope. This doesn’t mean that we will be spared from
suffering or hardships, but that God will see us through to perfect
completion.
Don’t wait for these times of interruption to occur, plan in
advance by going to God everyday. Read His word and gain the wisdom and courage
to accept the detour in the road. Trust
in Him who gives you an interruption understanding that His agenda is the best
lineup for our lives.
Accept don’t resist
the interruption He brings to you.
