I was preparing to make Katie’s birthday cake, so I decided
to look on Pinterest at the cakes we had pinned. I found the perfect one and got to work. It looked great in the pan and the little
cakes with swirled tye die even looked wonderful. I placed the baked colorful ones in the
middle of the batter and baked until done.
After cooking I put all the pieces together and iced them. The colorful decorations flowed over all the
edges. I thought I had made a perfect
masterpiece until I cut it open. It
didn’t turn out exactly like I had planned.
Do things ever turn out exactly how we have planned?
Do you follow the recipe down to the little tidbits of
information? Are you 100% sure it is
going to look like the picture only to be completely surprised when it doesn’t?
Life! We plan and
plan. We think we follow our recipe only
to have things not turn out as we thought they would. At times we do things a little differently
than the recipe therefore our results aren’t that of perfection. When we don’t follow the directions there are
results. Many of the outcomes aren’t
pleasing. We envision what our picture
perfect life will be, only to have it change in midstream. An ingredient may be added that we had no
idea was going to change the outcome.
So what do we do when our picture perfect Pinterest life
doesn’t go as planned? You got it, when
given lemons you make lemonade and the only way to do that is with the Lord.
So how do we do this?
1.
Go to God in prayer everyday. Tell Him your
worries.
2.
Read His word.
We become closer to Him and are transformed through His words of wisdom.
3.
Have Faith!
Having faith leads to trust, we must trust in Him with all situations.
4.
Love.
Love all and pass on joy to anyone that crosses your path.
5.
Forgive!
When we don’t forgive we turn bitter, God doesn’t want bitterness in
this world.
6.
Have patience!
Realize it is His timing, wait for Him to create the masterpiece that
you are meant to be.
Follow Gods directions for your life. Become the masterpiece
He is creating you to be. Follow His
recipe and you will be pleased and excited with the outcome.
