DOWN IN MY HEART

I woke up this morning singing, “I’ve got the joy joy joy joy down in my heart.”  Off I went to research.  The song that was flowing out of me was written in the 1800’s.  Not much is said about this popular campfire song, but that it is also known as “Down in my Heart!”  There are several versions to the lyrics and I love all of them.

I've got the peace that passes understanding down in my heart...
I've got the far out faith that freaks out farmers down in my heart...
I've got the glorious hope of my blessed redeemer way down in the depths of my heart...
I've got the mighty Messiah that manifests miracles down in the depths of my heart...
Well, if the devil doesn't like it he can sit on a tack...
I've got the love of Jesus Christ my savior down in my heart...
I've got the wonderful love of my blessed redeemer way down in the depths of my heart...
I've got the brightest light in the depths of my heart...
I've got the infinite love of the living lord down in the depths of my heart...
I've got the love of Jesus, love of Jesus down in my heart...

It is definitely telling us to have JESUS down in our hearts.

Isn’t it interesting that it is also entitled “DOWN IN MY HEART?”  What is down in your heart?  Do you have joy deep within your soul?  Do you have peace that passes understanding?  Do you have far out faith?  Do you have glorious hope?  Do you have the mighty Messiah?

You already have this, but you may not realize it.  Jesus is already in your heart, because He wants to be.  He loves you no matter what, however it is up to you to show that He lives within you.  Don’t ask Jesus into your heart, realize He is there and ask Him to change your heart?  When He changes our hearts His joy resonates to everyone around us.  It is like you have a halo around you at all times beaming light to those who come in your path.

Show everyone your jOy today!  Pass on joy to everyone around you.   Allow Jesus to flow out of  You sharing with others Him that gives you the joy joy joy joy down in your heart!
