Protective, this is a word that describes my dog. Chimmy is very protective when it comes to me
and now she is protective of Baby Bear.
Anytime Barrett cries she is right there. When someone walks over to Barrett she
follows. I don’t have to worry if
someone strange comes to the door; Chimmy is going to protect us.
Who is your protector?
Who comes to your rescue and saves you from the wickedness of the world?
The answer is easy.
God has the protective power. He
is our refuge and strength. He shelters
us from the storms of life.
There were examples in the bible of how God is our
protector. In the early days God
protected the Israelites as they made their trek through the wilderness. They were in danger as they entered the
region of Sinai. They faced the
poisonous snakes and the attack of hostile nations, but no worries God was
there.
We are reminded how He carried the people on His wings and
delivered them through and out of the wilderness. They were carried to safety. God is like the eagle who soars above taking
care of its young. The Eagles wingspan
makes a protective umbrella shielding her young from the sun. Her wings wrap around her offspring to
protect them from the cold wind. The
illustration of the eagle is the reminder of how our Lord shelters us. He soars in the heavens and covers us with His
protective umbrella of His grace. He
wraps His love around us and shields us from the wilderness that we walk in.
As long as we remain faithful we will find refuge and
protection under the Lords wings.
