When Taylor Swift was just starting her singing career her
mother would bring her to Arkansas to do mini concerts. Not many people even knew who she was. The young girls of our town would travel a
few hours to go see her. I was always
impressed how sweet she was to everyone.
She always gave everyone her time, making him or her feel special. As her singing career blossomed she moved on
to the big stage. She continued to do for others and was still very kind even though
famous. It was then that everyone started getting in her business and becoming
jealous of this sweet little southern girl.
One of her latest songs is a song that I personally love called “Shake
It Off.”
In the lyrics of this song Swift says, “Haters are going to
hate, people will talk about you, people will break your heart, but in her mind
she keeps telling herself it’s going to be alright because you just shake it
off.”
Jesus and His disciples had to “Shake It Off!” In the Gospel of Mark Jesus gave his
disciples instructions to go out and share the message. They were not to linger or be upset with
those who refused the message. When a
person doesn’t welcome the message just, “Shake it off and move on!” (Mark 6:7-13)
There are haters in this world that don’t want to hear the
message of the good news. There are
those who will mistreat you, talk about you, and not listen to you. When you encounter those types of people just
move on. Keep on walking and SHAKE IT
OFF! No use shouting in deaf ears to
those who don’t want to receive the best of joy and peace.
2015 is going to be the best year yet if you do as Jesus
says and, SHAKE IT OFF!
