WHOSE GOT YOUR BACK?

Last night some friends and I took our girls to see Bruno Mars.  His opening number was Aloe Blacc, never heard of him, however he was great.  His music was clean and he was very talented.  His band consisted of many musical instruments in which I love.  One of the songs that he sang was called “Lift Your Spirit” actually it was my favorite.   The part of the chorus that was wonderful goes like this, “it aint’ where you’re from it’s where you’re at, it ain’t who you know, it’s whose got your back!”  Yes grammatically incorrect, however so true.

Such a short few words says it all and sums it up, it’s not where you are from, it’s not about who you know, but it is about who has your back.  As Christians we don’t have to worry, we know who has our back.  The Lord has our back every minute of everyday.  We may not know which one of our friends truly has our back, but with the Lord we don’t have to worry, we know for certain He has our back.  He shows us in various ways how He is standing behind us.  He tells us through different circumstances that He hasn’t forgotten us.  We have no need to fear because the creator of the universe is backing us up.  This doesn’t mean that we don’t have any enemies nor that Satan won’t come knocking at our door.  It does mean, however that when we embrace the fact that God has our back the enemy shrinks and backs off. 

The next time you feel you have no one, you feel as if no one is standing behind you supporting you just remember the Lord has your back.  He is your strength.  He is your backbone holding you up no matter what ventures into your path.  He doesn’t care where you are from He has your back!
