FRAGILE

When the girls were small we lived in a much smaller home. Even though small I tried to decorate somewhat and make our home what we call “homey.”  I have always collected angels.  I love them.  That was the one thing that I had all over our house.  One day while I was putting the trash in a trash bag I noticed a diaper in the bottom of the trashcan that had a funny shape.  It was heavy also.  I got that “what in the world” look then opened it up.  Inside the diaper was a broken angel.  My poor angel completely destroyed never to be placed as decoration again.  Instead of trying to glue it back together I gently said my goodbyes and placed it in the trash bag.

At times in our lives we may be as fragile as my ceramic angel.  We may become broken.  We may have broken relationships, we may have a broken family, we may have broken friendships, and everything in our lives may be broken.  Much like the angel couldn’t be fixed we may feel we can’t be put back together either.  We question whether we are worthy, whether we are loved, whether we are accepted.  Our insecurities are high and we find ourselves in the pit of brokenness.  How do we put the pieces back together and glue ourselves firmly not to be broken again?  It isn’t easy.  It is a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs.  Some days are better than others.  At times we are on the top of the mountain knowing that God loves us and that it is only Him that we need to please.  But then Satan comes in and throws in the “you aren’t good enough” and back we go into the valley.

What we must always remember is that God is with you to glue you back together any day, anytime and for any reason.  He is bigger and stronger than any of the valleys that Satan places you in.  You are greater than any insecurity that is lingering in your mind that makes you fragile.  When you allow the Holy Spirit to live deep within you work is being done and you will become God centered.  The Holy Spirit provides you power to stay surrendered to Him.  When we focus on the Lord, read His truth and pray we will be healed.  All of our pieces will be glued back together.  We are ready to get off the roller coaster and live a life completely repaired.

Beginning today fix the brokenness.  Climb out of the trashcan; allow God to glue you back together and start sharing your beauty with others.

Psalm 147:3
New International Version (NIV)
He heals the brokenhearted
    and binds up their wounds.
