Sincerely your favorite nephew was how the thank you note
read. It had been my nephew’s birthday
and he had written a note of thanks. I
laughed as I read the word favorite. It
was funny because I don’t have just one nephew.
I thought to myself, “Do each of my nephews think they are the
favorite?”
Favorite, my mind began to linger. What does it mean? To be preferred before all others of the same
kind. So are we favored? Whose favorite are we?
The Jews were called Gods chosen people. Does that mean that they were His
favorite? No not really they were just
chosen. They were chosen for a specific
job. That job was to spread the message
that there was only one true God. That
was many years ago so now we must spread the message.
So what is this telling us about being a favorite?
Are there any favorites?
God doesn’t have favorites.
It doesn’t matter the color of your skin, your socioeconomic background,
where you live, what you drive, what your degree is, what you have done or
where you have been, none of that matters to God. We are all chosen by God to spread His
word. He favors all of us. All that matters is that we have faith.
Yes faith, I didn’t say that we do good. It all depends on our faith in Him. We don’t have to try and work our way into
Gods favor all we have to do is trust in Him.
His salvation is available to anyone that calls upon Him. (Romans 10:13)
Maybe we should all start signing our name “Gods Favorite!”
