My word for May 7th if REVISIT
When I teach test taking skills to students I teach them
that there are times for you to revisit certain things and there are times you
never revisit. When answering
multiple choice questions if you need to you can revisit the passage rereading
certain parts to find the answer.
When faced with a difficult question where you have, by process of
elimanation, disguarded two answers and you are down to two answers left choose
your answer and move on. Do not
revisit the question. When you
revisit these types of questions you begin to second-guess your self. Usually when you have a question like
this or when there is a question that you feel you know the correct answer
right off the bat, chances are you are right with your first answer. Revisiting puts you in a state of
questioning, asking over and over again is this correct?
Life is like this.
When we revisit situations that have stolen our peace we tend to ask
ourselves, “Have we done the right thing?” When we revisit it can bring back heartache and
sadness. It hurts our heart and
may send us back down in a pit. Satan
loves this. He places certain
memories in our past to remind us of how devastating the situation was. If you revisit, you are allowing the
devil to have control. When our
minds are rotating around the past go to your quiet place and pray. Don’t let the devil take advantage of
the situation; don’t let him steal your peace. Set your mind on the future and on all the memories in your
life that have filled you with joy.
Set your mind on God and God’s word. If you do this, the devil can’t put your life in reverse
sending you back in the past into a downhill spiral.
When traveling down this journey of 2012 keep moving forward
with God to find peace. Don’t let
your gears slip back into reverse revisiting what the devil wants you to. When looking in the review mirror
envision the devil standing there screaming at you “come back!” Laugh to yourself as you know that you
are driving with God as your passenger going forward during 2012.
Dear Lord help us to keep moving forward not revisiting our
past that will steal our peace. We
know that we can revisit good memories; the ones that make us smile. Keep the devil far away and help us to
keep him in the review mirror. As
we are traveling down this journey of 2012 stay in our passenger seat helping
us to look forward and the joyous future that lies ahead.
John 6:63 NIV
63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have
spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit[a] and life.
Psalm 34:14 NIV
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Mark 4:15 NIV
15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As
soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in
them.
