My word for May 12^th is BELIEVE

When I got home this afternoon I walked in to find a bouquet of flowers on the bar. The card was to Misti and Jay.  I couldn’t imagine who would send Jay and I both flowers.  I opened the card anxious to find out who sent the beautiful arrangement.  I read the card, which said, “Thank you for always believing in me.  I can’t believe I graduate from the college Saturday.  Love Lauren”.  My eyes filled with tears, not because they were from Lauren, not because another chapter of her life was closing, but because she knew that we believed in her.  Lauren may have doubted things during her college career but she never doubted the fact that Jay and I were here for her believing in her.

There isn’t anything like someone believing in you. We all need people to push us and stand beside us during our bumps in the road.  Many times during my teaching I watched students change because teachers believed in them.  God does the same thing.  He believes in us.  It doesn’t matter if we have sinned, if we have been cruel, or if we have blamed Him.  He gives us second chances.  If you fail he knows that you aren’t a failure.  If you fall He will help you up.  Change comes from love and God loves us and believes in us.  It is hard to believe things that aren’t visible to us.  During our walk with God we must learn how to believe first, believe without seeing.  Once we believe we will be able to see the results.  God gives good results we must trust in Him.   

Listen for God to tell you “YOU CAN”.  Never have doubt that He believes in you. Let your dreams come true because He believes in you. 

Dear Lord thank you for believing in us.  You are our engine that says we can, You give us strength because we believe in You.  Help us remember even when we doubt our worth, that You believe in what we can do.  Help us to reach our full potential.  We want to work for You living up to your expectations.  During 2012 help us to believe that we can.
