My word for May 16th is FIGHTER!

My word for May 16th is FIGHTER

Aimee Copeland was kayaking with friends when she stopped to ride a homemade zip line that she and her friends had rigged.  As she was crossing the river the line snapped and she went crashing into the water.  She suffered a gash to her left calf.  Now Aimee is fighting for her life.  After several trips back to the emergency room for pain Aimee was told that a flesh-eating bacteria had invaded her wound.   The rare flesh-eating bacterium was necrotizing fasciitis, which can destroy skin, fat, and muscle.  The bacteria had already spread up her leg, and doctors had to amputate her left leg beginning at the hip.  Aimee is a 24-year-old master’s student at the University of West Georgia.  Her family stated that she is a “bright star, lover of life, infinitely generous of heart and spirit.”  Her community knows what a fighter she is.  They are helping to add to her fight by having blood drives, collecting money, and having fundraisers.

Aimee, being a masters of psychology student, believed that we are part of the web of life.  Just as the leaf has no separate existence from the tree we have no existence if we are separated from God.  Aimee is particularly interested in the study and practice of re-harmonizing with nature as a means for creating psychological health and vitality.  She believes in being one with nature letting go and letting your true self emerge.  Opening your heart and be the full person that you are destined to be.  God wants us to be in existence with Him knowing that without Him we won’t be the true person we are destined to become.  Enjoy nature let go of the world that sometimes holds us back and sends negativities our way.  Let go of what steals our peace and become full of tranquility.  Be the fighter.  God wants us all to be fighters; He wants us to never give up.  God helps us fight the fight.  He stands beside us pushing us to victory.  Just as the leaf is part of the tree, God is part of us.  As the leaves change with every season God changes us for every season preparing us for what lies ahead.  He enables us to fight the fight whatever the fight may be.

With God we are all fighters.  During 2012 fight your fight whatever that may be; you will have victory existing with God.

I Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of the faith.  Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Dear God prepare us to be fighters.  Whatever we encounter we will have our weapons ready.  Our shields and armor of believing will stay strong and will protect us.  Help us brace our minds and bodies to anticipate wars to come during 2012.  When we confront adversity during this year give us peace after the battle.
