MY WORD FOR JULY 5 IS REAL!

My word for July 5th is REAL

One of my former friends gave me a plaque that said, “Are you for REAL?”  I loved this saying; I use to say it all the time.  The reason why I loved it so much is because I am very real.  What you see is what you get.  You may ask what does it mean to be real?  To be real a person has to be genuine.  A real person is happy being their self.  Many times people deny their self the right to be real.  Our society is caught up in acceptance and approval.  To be real you aren’t worried about what others think.  A real person lets people know how they feel.  They don’t hide their feelings.  They see what really matters, and realize what doesn’t. There isn’t a bone in their body that is or can be fake or shady.  It isn’t however always peachy being real.  Many people don’t know how to take people that are real.  Realness can sometimes come off as being rude, but there is a difference in real and rude.  Being rude is being mean and sarcastic; being real is being genuine and true.

God created each of us as unique individuals.  He gave us all different talents and abilities that he expects us to put to good use.  When we are real, putting God in the forefront of our minds, our uniqueness that He created will be visible.  Being real honors Gods creativity.  When we use our strengths we contribute to the well being of each other and enhance the kingdom of God.

Don’t hide behind the mask.  Reveal the real you. The real you is natural.   Show the world what the Lord has given you.  By being real you open up the opportunity for growth.  You will grow beyond limitations.  The magic power of being real and using what God has given you relies on you.  Start today.

Colossians 3:23-24  Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive and inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Dear Lord thank you for making all of us unique and blessing each of us with special talents.    Enable us to use these talents to share our faith and communicate your love to others.  Guide us to be real in every situation serving You in all that we do.  During 2012 help us to not have fear.  Assist us in removing our masks and making the “real” us visible.
