I knew something was going on. The girls were acting odd all day long. I had told them absolutely no surprises. I love having surprise parties for my
friends, but I’m not fond of being surprised.
At 5:15 I glanced out the window and saw cars beginning to pull in the
cul-de-sac. Yes they had followed
through with their plan, not my plan. They were going to surprise me whether I liked
it or not.
Have you ever been surprised? Do you like surprises? You may have your day, your weekend, your
month or even your year planned out and then a surprise comes walking through
the back door.
God may have a surprise for us. We may have our agenda planned and completely
figured out, but the Lord has a different calendar laid out for us. Trust Him with whatever He has written into
your day. Let the Spirit of the Lord
guide you and direct you. Don’t try to
fight His surprise plan, just go with it.
He knows what is best for you.
There will be surprises during our lifetime. In an article written by Tony Abram,
“Surprises from God,” Tony gives examples of surprises found within the pages
of the Bible.
·
Moses and the burning bush
·
Sara and Abraham having a baby
·
The 70 that Jesus sent out came back surprised
the spirits were cast out
·
Lazarus coming out of the tomb
·
Jesus rising from the dead
·
Appearing to His disciples in a closes and
locked room
·
His ascension to heaven
All of these surprises are given to us as examples. I find it comical that we act surprised when
our days don’t go exactly as we have planned.
Don’t be surprised just trust in the Lord and lean not on
your own understanding. God is prepared
for the unexpected and the unplanned. He
will take care of you when the surprise comes walking into your life.
Embrace the surprise, have faith and be bold to follow
through with His agenda.
Bless the surprise, even if it is disguised and you will be
healthy, wealthy and wise!
