It has almost gotten where I
don’t like to watch the news, what about you?
I have stopped reading the paper also.
It seems that everywhere we look there is bad news. Someone at war here, someone getting hurt
there, something going on everywhere.
Bad news surrounds us. So what do
many of us do when faced with bad news?
We begin to question and seek to find answers.
The book of Habakkuk is very
short, however it contains very wise information. Just like many of us Habakkuk questioned the
adversity going on around Him. He wanted
to know why and he wanted answers. What
he did though was what many of us have trouble doing. He brought his concerns straight to the
Lord. When we step back and look at the
situation the only problem is with our understanding. We should be like Habakkuk and take our
issues straight to God. We should move
from doubt to faith. We should move from
questioning to His answering.
Take your problems to the
Lord ask Him for help. If you listen
carefully He will answer. At the end of
the book of Habakkuk, he concludes with a prayer of triumph understanding God’s
power and love.
Habakkuk 3:16-19
New International Version (NIV)
16
I heard and my heart pounded,
my
lips quivered at the sound;
decay crept into my bones,
and
my legs trembled.
Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity
to
come on the nation invading us.
17
Though the fig tree does not bud
and
there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and
the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and
no cattle in the stalls,
18
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I
will be joyful in God my Savior.
19
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he
makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he
enables me to tread on the heights.
