My bible study group is reading “Stronger” by Angela
Thomas. Some of her lessons speak louder
to me than others. Today I was reading
Day 2 of Chapter 3 and it hit home.
Can you think of the worst day of your life? When I go back through my days of getting a
bad message I’m not sure which one I would say was the worst. I can however remember the feeling I had when
I was the receiver of bad news, the one on the other end of the telephone. I can remember the ache that automatically
comes in your gut, the rush of emotion that fills you, the shock that fills your
mind and the reaction of what do I do?
Many feelings swarm your body, most of helplessness and
hopelessness.
No one is immune to receiving information that is
crushing. In our lifetime we will all
face the reality that something bad has happened. John 16:33 states I have said these things to
you, that in me you may have peace. In
the world you will have tribulation.
Tribulation in this world is unavoidable. He didn’t say you may have troubles, He said
in this world you will have troubles.
There is however a promise He made to us. That promise being John 16:33 But take heart;
I have overcome the world. From the time
that we understand that Christ is our savoir He will take care of us. Whatever tribulation we encounter during our
lifetime He is here with us. Whatever
crisis comes your way Christ is with you.
He is your hope in all situations that seems hopeless.
Angela Thomas ends day 2 with this quote, “I am hidden in
Christ. I can face bad news in grace and
peace because I trust the One who has saved me.
