COMFORT

We are very lucky if we live on this earth and don’t encounter a time of sadness.  A time when we weep.  A time when we can’t find the answers.  A time of frustration and worry.  A time when we just don’t know what to do.  Have you ever been there?  What did you do when you fall into the valley of tears?  Where did you turn when you arrived?

When you begin to walk down your road of life you will walk through the Valley of Baca.  This is the time in your life when you feel helpless and hopeless.  Even though you don’t want to go there you know you must enter to get to the other side.   You know that on the other side is joy and peace.

It is during this visit to Baca that you find strength in God.  Even though your heart is in agony you get back on the road and press forward.  He will be your strength in the land of the weeping.  He will refresh you in the land that is desolate and barren.  Even though the heat of the journey will drain you and leave you parched He will quench your thirst.

So do not be frustrated, do not be worried; do not be anxious because He will accompany you through Baca.  He is the overflowing fountain that is traveling the dusty road with you wiping your tears and comforting you.

Psalm 84:5-6
New International Version (NIV)
Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
    whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
    they make it a place of springs;
    the autumn rains also cover it with pools.[a]
