Chimmy and I took advantage of the beautiful weather
yesterday. I put her on her leash and
off we went around the neighborhood. The
sun was shining and there was a gentle breeze.
It felt wonderful. When I turned
a corner I could hear the soft sound of music floating down the street. As I got closer to Betty’s house the echoes
of Christmas music bellowed from the CD player located on her front porch. Not only was the music coming from the cd
Betty was also singing as she hung all of her Christmas lights on her front
lawn. When I made the block I cut back
through just so I could hear the joyful singing.
Psalm 100 is our invitation to enter joyfully into Gods
presence. David explains to us to
acknowledge that the lord is God. We do
this by shouting our praises and expressing our thanks to Him. Our singing is a joyful noise that the Lord
hears and enjoys. We can bring our
acknowledgment and thanks to Him through song.
{1 Shout
for joy to the Lord, all the earth.2 Worship the
Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.3 Know that the Lord is God.
It
is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we
are his people, the sheep of his pasture.4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and
his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.5 For the Lord is good and his love
endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all
generations.}
When we sing we are building up others and bringing them
joy. Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians
3:13-16 states how we should address each other with song and how singing
brings forgiveness, love and peace. When
we sing we are an example of a joyful life that God has created.
Walking through this holiday season sing your heart out. Sing to the Lord a joyful song. When you do you are building up others and
sharing the love the Lord has for us. When you belt out the noise of the Lord,
others will be drawn to you.
