With the New Year fast approaching I am sure that many of
you have stated a few things that you want to get accomplished “next
year.” We tend to put things off that we
are excited about doing until “next year.”
With that in mind start making a list of a few goals for 2015.
Did you know that if you share a goal with a friend you are
more likely to obtain it? The reason
being is when you share you are accountable, someone else knows what your
trying to accomplish. Share also when
you have a setback. When you do this you
will receive encouragement to help you start moving forward again towards the
result that you want.
There is one thing that I do before I share with friends, I
go to the Lord. I make my goal and
myself accountable to Him. I am very open
and descriptive in what I want to accomplish.
Then I start working, but also understand that it may not be in His plan
for me. When I am led on a detour I take
it with stride understanding that all of the detours will fit into my journey.
I read an article that stated, “When we turn our goals over
to God the road may not be less bumpy, but we will still have joy in our
hearts. We may be knocked down, but now
out. We may grieve over present loss,
but not lose hope for the future. When
you go through deep waters you will not drown, when you walk through fire you
will not be burned. “
Take on the goals that the Lord has for you for 2015. He will help you accomplish those things that
He knows are best for you. When you commit your plans to His glory, for His
purpose and seeking to do His will, then God will guide you in establishing your
plans. Go to Him first and let Him
determine your steps.
Proverbs
16:3 New International Version
Commit to the
LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Proverbs 16:9 New
International Version
In their
hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.
