MY WORD FOR JUNE 5TH IS LESSON
As I have said before, my high school English teacher told
me, “I was the only student that she couldn’t teach how to write.” This was a lesson that I supposedly
couldn’t master. There have been
many lessons that I have taught to students in twenty-three years. Some lessons aren’t successful, but
when not successful the teacher doesn’t give up they try something else. Writing is a difficult task to teach,
but when taught with a variety of tactics a writer can be made out of
anyone. There are tricks that
students use to make their writing become a work of art. Organizing what the writer is
going to write is just as important as the finished product. Figurative language can be used to make
words have style and voice. There
are ways to make sentences have more breadth and depth. When teaching writing, breaking the
process down into segments makes the process easier, beginning with the
hook. Just like a good book, the
writer has to hook the reader.
Once you have the hook in you have caught them. Writing is a way that gives a person an
outlet to express how they feel. Writing
to me use to be a chore, now it is a blessing.
Life lessons can be easy or they can be difficult. Much like a piece of writing, our life
is organized, just not on paper.
God had our life organized for us from the day we were born. He has a plan. Every segment is joined together
through a series of life lessons.
We sometimes try to rearrange our life, organizing it differently than
the way God has put it together.
It doesn’t work when we try to reorganize it or adjust it. We aren’t the teacher we are the
student. When we follow the way
the teacher has organized our lives for us we will flow much like a graceful
flowing stream. There are tactics that make our lesson of life easier. If we put our lives in God’s hands,
being led by Him, our lives will have style and voice, giving us purpose. Some parts of our written lives can be
difficult, but by changing just a few things here and there our lives will
become examples of the good, and not the bad or the ugly. It is never too late to start your
writing piece over. Throw your
junk in the trash. Don’t dwell on
the lessons that may have stolen your peace, even though you can’t erase it you
can learn from those lessons.
God has already written your story, it is up to you to live
it. Learn from God’s life lessons
for you, don’t think you can’t, and add some tricks to spice up the life
intended for you. You can and you
will, by living with God. During
2012 take the challenge and learn from God’s lessons.
Jeremiah 1:8 NIV
Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue
you, “declares the Lord.
Dear Lord thank you for teaching us, even though some of our
life lessons we don’t like, we know that we can learn from them. We realize at times we are difficult
students, either not following directions or finishing the task, but we know You
won’t give up on us. Thank You for
believing that “we can” and thank you for not giving up on us. During our journey of 2012 keep helping
us turn the pages of our written life so that we will enjoy the wonderful days
ahead that You have planned for us.
