RECIPE

“Follow the recipe, stir the same way and take the goose out of the egg,” was what the little voice in my head was saying as I stirred together the ingredients from my grandmothers recipe.  From the time I was a little girl I was in the kitchen with “Adee” as I called her.  She taught me how to cook everything from taffy, fudge, meringue, and angel food to gingerbread. I still have her sifter that is worn from the 90 years of use and I use the same swans cake floor and grandmas molasses that we used in the 60’s.  Many of the recipes we used are nonexistent in the kitchens of today.  We find the easy route and open a box, instead of carefully adding the proper ingredients one at a time.  What memories made in the kitchen of yesteryear. 

God gives us a recipe to follow while whispering in our ears.  It is pretty much as simple as opening a box and pouring the contents in the bowl.  The recipe is located within the pages of the Bible.  It is the written word that gives us the ingredients that will let us obtain a fruitful life.  The most important ingredient is God.  When we have Him in the middle of our mixing bowl we don’t have to worry about stirring the wrong way. He will lead us and guide us in the direction that will give us the best outcome. 

Just like my grandma told me we can’t forget to get rid of the goose in the egg or in other words “Satan.”  He is the ingredient that tries to torment us and give our recipe a distinct taste of unpleasantness.   Remove Satan from your batter and your life will be free from anything that is bitter or sour. 

Follow Him, stay on the path He lays out for you and remove Satan are the words that are located on the recipe God has given us.  If we choose to follow HIs recipe for life our lives will have a pleasing aroma with a tasteful outcome.
