AFFIRMATION

“Please call me Kelvin.  Brothers and sisters are on a first name basis.  Congratulations on being chosen by God to write your book.  To have a parallel message for women of God is ideal in the times we are living in.  Feel free to reference any portion of my book you feel appropriate for your message.  Please consider me a resource as you go forward.  This is my cell number if you need to reach me with any questions.”  These were the words I read from the author of a book that I am referencing.

I am writing the sister book to his book and I had searched for him on the Internet.  He was very easy to find.  I sent him a message on LinkedIn, but never dreamed that he would respond.  Within 24 hours I had received the affirmation I needed that indeed I was to be writing this book.

To increase someone’s productivity one ingredient that has to be present is affirmation.  Receiving affirmation is a basic human need.  The apostle Paul realized this basic need years ago while working with the Corinthians.   Before he taught them he gave them words of affirmation.  Paul was correct.  The Corinthians began to grow their spiritual life.  They were able to handle criticism because of the way Paul gave them caring affirmation.

The bible is filled with situations where God spoke to His people giving them affirmation.  He communicated through angels, chosen people, dreams, visions, miracles and some things that were strange and bizarre.  He then sent His son to speak to us.

Just as Paul gave the Corinthians affirmation God speaks to us and give us the affirmation we need.  Through being a Christian we have a relationship with God and part of this relationship is communication.  God doesn’t speak to us only through one line of communication.  He speaks to us in a variety of ways.  Because of this we must learn how to hear His voice.

Through forming a relationship with Christ He will give us affirmation.  He will guide us through the situations that we venture into with His words.  Just like the biblical days He can speak to us through people.  It may be a parent, a pastor, and a friend or in my case even a stranger that gives you affirmations from Christ.

When our ears are open to listening to Him we will receive the affirmation we need to continue down this path of life.  He will speak to us through others that will give us the input we need to give us direction.

Seek Him with all your heart and He will speak to you giving you affirmation of His plans for your journey.

Jeremiah 29:13New International Version (NIV)
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
