“THEY’RE BACK!” The
pesky slender long- legged fly that loves the water is back. They bite and the buzz. The bloodsucking female can and will transmit
serious diseases to humans and animals.
The mosquito causes us to run into our homes after the sunsets and use
repellant on our skin and in the air. We
place fans by our doors and install home mist devices to try and keep them from
retreating to our homes at night. It is
a battle and the mosquito usually wins.
When I starting thinking about these annoying little insects
it reminded me of our thoughts. Our
thoughts are just as troublesome as the mosquito. Our brain produces the thoughts that will
sneak upon us, biting and buzzing throughout our days. We can’t get rid of them, especially the ones
that are damaging. We try to do everything
we can to remove these thoughts from our mind only for them to increase.
Our thoughts can be overwhelming. They can send us spiraling down or cascading
upward. One negative thought leads to another,
which leads to another. Just like the mosquito
these thoughts are buzzing around in the back of our mind day in and day
out. They can make everything worse and
they can keep us in a state of depression.
They can make us have doubt, worry or fear. These thoughts are very powerful and like the
mosquito they usually come out the winner.
So what do we do when these thoughts come buzzing into our
brains?
Don’t let your thoughts grow out of control. Bring in the damage control and get those
little pesky feelings out of your life.
Our damage control is the Lord. I
found a great article entitled, God’s
Stop Sign: Two Ways to Stop and Turn Negative Thoughts! “We must first know God and know His voice
and also slow down and come to a stop.”
Discerning Gods voice is very important.
Speak to Him and He will speak to you.
Know when those negatives thoughts are creeping into your brain and stop
them. Slow down, spend time with God,
listen to His voice and know what thoughts to swat with the flyswatter so they
will quit speaking.
Stop today letting those pesky thoughts buzz through your
life. Swat them with God’s words and
they will fly from you.
