Three years I had worked. Diligently I poured my heart and soul into
the pages. From page 1 to page 240 was
my life. My ups, my downs, my joys, my
sadness, everything was out there for anyone to see. I had copied all the pages and placed them in
binders. A group of women had agreed to
sit down once a week with me and edit.
The second time we met I didn’t feel comfortable. Something was tugging at me and saying, “This
isn’t your book!” The voice got louder
and louder. I wanted it to be my book, I
wanted to share, I wanted to help others, I felt that these were the pieces of
paper bound between the cover that would give others hope. (Be sure you caught that word- I)
The voice was speaking to my friends also. As they gathered to critique I began by
saying, “This isn’t my book, this isn’t what I am to write.” The face of relief was written all over their
faces. They had the same voice telling
them, “This isn’t her book.”
What do I do?
As I told them what I wanted to write everyone started sharing what
their thoughts were. It was amazing how
many chapters we brainstormed in a short 30 minutes of time. That day I got started and wrote 4000 words. That was two weeks ago and since then I have
three chapters completed.
The Lord speaks to us continually. He has spoken to people for years. It may be an audible voice, an inner voice or
a mental impression. He resides deep
within our souls and loves to communicate with us, but we must be ready to hear
the conversation. It is like a
conversation with a friend. If we want
to listen we will, but if we are distracted we will not hear anything the other
person is saying.
A thought crossed my mind back to the old show,
“Father Knows Best.” Yes our Father
knows best. He knows what is best for us
and what isn’t. He knows when the timing
is perfect and when it isn’t. He KNOWS,
it is as simple as that.
When God tells you something listen. When the voice gets louder and louder stop
and obey. When the voice not only speaks
to you, but also speaks to your friends do what the voice tells you to do. When He is communicating with you, when He is
ready to hold a conversation get rid of all the distractions stop and hear what
He is saying.
Christ speaks to those who are ready to
listen. We may not like what He tells
us, but remember
FATHER KNOWS BEST!
