Doctors have a way to examine what you look like on the
inside. Whether colonoscopy or EDG the physician
uses a thin, flexible tube to examine the large intestines or the lining of the
esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestines. In 1989 my mother was diagnosed with colon
cancer. It was an early detection so it wasn’t life threatening. Because of this I am up at 3:30
preparing. I have had several colonoscopies,
however I still dread the preparation. On the flip side it is nice to know that you
are healthy on the inside.
Our inner being is very important. The secret lying beneath our skin includes
our thoughts and feelings as well as our hearts. No matter what our current situation or
circumstance our emotional self is important.
This is something we gravitate from and ignore. We tend to do a better job at making sure our
outer layer is cleansed, but this cleansing of our soul takes a reminder. We take care of our outer husk, but we conceal
what is only known to us.
We are like that of trees, we can look perfectly healthy on
the outside but we can be rotting on the inside. Our insides contain the scars, the wounds and
the fears of life. God is greatly
concerned with our inner soul and what we are producing. He doesn’t need a special flexible tube to
investigate, He knows us inside and out.
He knows our hearts and souls, our emotions and feelings. It is through having an inner connection with
Him that our obscure being will be restored and become healthy.
Others may see the external outer layer, but it is the inner
part where we truly live. It is there
that the Lord is present. We listen and
hear his voice and we should listen. He is working everyday renewing the decay
that consumes us.
Begin and end everyday with the Lord allowing Him to examine
our inner selves, cleanse our debris and renew our lives.
Matthew 7:17 Jesus said, “the good tree bears good fruit.”
