HELD

Baby bear is trying to walk.  He pulls up and does the hand walk moving from one piece of furniture to another.  He is into everything and has no fear.  This fearless mentality sometimes leads to a fall.  He will fall and always land on his head.  After the face plant he will begin to cry.  He has a sound that comes out like, “Momma!”  He just wants to be held by his momma.

Isn’t this true for all of us?  When we fall we want to be held.

As we get older we realize that we aren’t held by our mommas, but held by the one who created us.  In Psalm 139:10 it is said, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

God will always be there for us.  He is there during the good and the bad.  His hand is there to seize us when we go astray or to protect us.  He is there to support us during all situations and circumstances.  He is the same all day everyday.

The same is written in Isaiah 41:13 for the Lord they God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
Everyday be strong and courageous do not be afraid or full of fear.  He will never fail us.  Go to Him in conversation and be content because He is listening.  This alone allows us not to have a spirit of fear, but of strength that is accomplished through Him alone.

The next time you are trying to walk through a situation and you dive into the floor, falling on your face, remember who holds you.

Just be held!

COME ON IN LORD

HOLY SPIRIT YOU ARE WELCOME!

WELCOME

WELCOME! By many backdoors and front doors hang a welcome sign.  This sign is telling those that knock that they are welcome, but are they?  Who are you welcoming into your home?  Is it those that are filled with peace, love, joy, faithfulness and patience?  Are you receiving every person upon his or her arrival?

Lets think about this, who should be accepted with pleasure when they arrive?

Christ said in Revelations 3:20 NIV “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”

The first person that should be welcomed into our homes is Christ.  When we feel the sense of turning to God that is Him knocking.  Open the door and welcome Him into your heart today.  Don’t just let Him in but give Him the key.  When you hand your life over to Him the renovations will begin to take place.

He knocks and it is our choice whether we choose to let Him in.  Don’t make Him have to break into your life, but allow Him easy entry.

Is your life one, which has an open door policy for the Lord, or are you making Him stand on the other side locked out?

Unlock your doors today for Him and let Him walk in.  When the Lord walks in Satan knows He isn’t welcome.  Your life will become full with the presence of the Holy Spirit and your days will be fulfilled.

There is nothing that compares to His presence living within your life.  Make Him welcome!

SMALL THINGS GREAT LOVE

“Do Small Things With Great Love!”  This is the inscription that is located on the bracelet that Lauren gave me for an early birthday gift.  My daughters know me too well and this short saying goes along with the project that several of us are working on- “Pass On Joy!”

I ask you, what small thing have you done lately with great love to pass on joy?

I am always led back to the good old hymn “Trust and Obey.”  This is what God wants us to do, trust and obey.  When we trust in Him and obey His words we serve others in small ways that bring great joy.

Jesus wasn’t sent to this earth to be served.  He was here to serve and that is the one thing that we need to remember.  During our lives we should strive to be like Jesus.  To be like Jesus we must first love.  That means love those that are unlovable.  It means to not be selfish- it isn’t about you.    1 John 4:8 whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  When we love we have no other choice but to serve.  The disciples didn’t wash Jesus’s feet He washed theirs.

This washing symbolized the love Jesus had for them.  For Jesus to perform the lowliest of tasks showed that he had a servant’s heart.  This washing signified that he washes our sins away.  Jesus was also showing them that they should do as He does.  (John 13:15)

Trust and obey Jesus.  Serve others seeking to build each other up.  When we act in the way that Jesus acted we will be truly blessed.

RAINBOW

PROMISE

My husband’s brain is like a whirlwind and so is mine.  There is so much going on and many things to remember.  There are many things we forget.  I even write them down on my calendar only to forget to look at my calendar.  I know that one-day life will slow down or will it?

Are you absent-minded?  Have forgotten something lately only to remember too late?  Do you write things in your calendar and forget to look at your calendar?

Did you know that God doesn’t forget?  He doesn’t forget His promises.  How do I know?  It is given to us in the words of the Bible.

God looked down on the earth that He had created and was disappointed.  He looked down and couldn’t believe the chaos and confusion located on the beautiful earth He had started.  It was then He found Noah.

He went to Noah and gave him His assignment.  Noah obeyed and was later blessed.  It was during the aftermath of the flood that we find out that God doesn’t forget.  God made a promise to never flood the earth again.  After the promise, He created a rainbow that bend over the new earth.  This rainbow wasn’t for Noah, well it was, but it wasn’t.  This rainbow was for God.  It was the reminder that He made the promise never to flood the earth again.

When God makes a promise He makes a promise.  God doesn’t forget.  He doesn’t need a calendar or an alarm.  He keeps the big promises or the tiny pinky promises.  For God to fulfill the promises He has for us we must listen for His directions and obey.  When we do we will see the rainbow bent over the earth as the constant reminder that God never forgets.

Look for the rainbow in every situation as the constant reminder that God loves you and will never forget you!
