FOOTPRINTS

My shoes determine my day.  That may seem odd to you, but it is a fact.  I have very high arches and a bad back, so my day and night depend on my shoes.  If I don’t have in my arch supports by the end of my day my back is aching.  This leads to not being able to wear many cute shoes, or if I do I know I will reap the consequences of pain.

We are studying Priscilla Shirer’s book The Armor of God.  This week we are on chapter 4 “The Shoes of Peace.”  Thinking about my shoes and God’s shoes of peace had a correlation.

“If I don’t put on my good shoes than I am not at peace with my body at the end of the day.  If we don’t put on God’s shoes we aren’t at peace about anything!”

When we put on Gods shoes we have the ability to walk in the sinful world of today and still be at peace.  We are able to find peace when we are in turmoil.  Peace prevails when we are in the enemy’s territory.

These shoes are our anchors to God.  They ground us and give us the security we need to not be knocked over when the storms of life come barreling in.

God’s shoes are made for walking and that’s just what we do.  When we are fitted and sized with Gods shoes the enemy can’t knock us over.  When we take off our shoes at the end of the day, no matter what we have experienced, we will still have peace.

Put on Gods peace shoes, dig in and get moving.  God doesn’t want us to stand still He wants us to be consumed with His peace and share this peace with others.

Put on God’s shoes and leave footprints of peace!
