My word for April 18th is TOGETHER

My word for April 18th is TOGETHER

Jennifer Cahalan is going through a life revolution.  She is changing her outlook on life.  Jennifer has had a life of ups and downs.  She has the stressful job of teaching 2nd grade and then going home to take care of her young son being a single mother.  She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and only given two years to live.  Undergoing two aggressive surgeries, Jenny is now cancer free.  She feels that she has a second chance on life.  She wants to revolutionize her body and get fit.  It wasn’t this whole story that stuck with me it was some of the words Jenny said.  Jenny said she had always been strong for her son.  She had kept quiet about her cancer, told him it would be ok, and never cried in front of him.  Jenny realized that this wasn’t the best approach.  They are “in this new revolution together”.  They discuss how to be healthy and how to live a long life.

How many times have you tried to be strong for your family?  I always have.  I learned from the best my mother.  There have only been two times I have seen my mother cry.  That has made me feel I shouldn’t cry either.  That philosophy for me has changed.  When I got the devastating phone call on August 2nd I have cried more than I ever have and not just alone.  Everyone has seen me cry and to my surprise many have cried with me.  Crying even though it seems bad was the best thing I ever did.  Crying brought a soft side to me, it made me real to my children, and it made Jay know that I did need him.  Yes, I am still strong, but strong in a different way.  With the Lord I am strong and following his path for my purpose I am strong, but being strong with my feelings I am not.  I am strong because I am in this together with the Lord.

This is how we should be. We should be strong with the Lord.  With the Lord beside us we can deal with anything, we can be strong.  God is light.  Light is the absence of dark.  God’s first creation was to bring light into the dark world.  Illuminating everything that He was creating.  When we hide in the darkness we aren’t together with God.  When we walk in the light Jesus can free us from our sins.  Wickedness happens in the dark Satan lives in the dark.  Darkness is the way of the wicked; it is a deep darkness that makes us stumble.  When we live in the light together with the Lord, the devil is unable to destroy us.  The light will bring us bountiful blessings.

Come to the light don’t hide in the darkness.   Walk this journey of 2012 TOGETHER with the Lord and let Him illuminate you.

Dear Lord You are the light.  Illuminate us to always shine with You.  We know that being together with you there is no option of darkness.  You will bless us with your presence guiding us down this road of 2012.

I John 1:5-7 (WEB)
This is the message, which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don't tell the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
