BIGGEST FAN

The ball game didn’t turn out the way the fans wanted it to.  With 8 minutes left in the game the stands had become half way evacuated.  You could hardly get down the hallway because it was wall-to-wall people trying to get out of the dooms day stadium.  Saturdays Razorback game had ended just like the week before with a big fat loss.

We made our way to the parking lot where we sat and visited.  We watched as the fans walked by with their heads hung low mad that the plays hadn’t accumulated more scoring.

They call themselves true fans, but are they?

A true fan doesn’t turn against a team because of a loss or a bad season.  A true fan is unconditional.  They support the team no matter what the outcome of the game is.  They forgive when their team has the lowest score.

The Lord is a true fan.  He loves you no matter what.  Whether you win or lose He has your back.  This doesn’t mean that He approves and applauds everything.  This means that when we sin, and yes we all do, if we go to Him for forgiveness He forgives.  He is a loving and just God.

So really the definition of a true fan is forgiving.  Fans forgive even when you throw an interception or miss a play.  They forgive when you allow the other team to make a touchdown and win the game.  They forgive and are back in their seats ready to cheer for the next game.

Your true fan is there for you when you mess up the play of the game.  He is waiting for you to come to Him and ask for help and advice.  He is there for you with forgiveness in His heart.  He wants you to win and the only way to have a win in life is being surrounded by your true fan.

Deuteronomy 31:8English Standard Version (ESV)

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
