FIND YOUR GIFTS

GIFT

As I was preparing for the book signing I wanted to find an appropriate scripture to leave on the page by my signature.  It didn’t take long to find one, 1 Peter 4:10.

When people find out that I have written a book they always say how proud they are of me.  This has bothered me simply because this isn’t my story this is God’s story given to me by a little girl.  Through the years I have discovered what my gifts are that God has blessed me with and now I am using them to serve others.  Just as the scripture states in 1 Peter 4:10 NIV Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
Our gifts should be faithfully used in serving others; none are for our exclusive enjoyment.

Every one of us has special gifts. When we use these gifts to glorify others we will be blessed beyond what we could ever imagine.  When we change our focus from “me to The” our lives will change.  This may take time but we must have patience and remember it is in His time not ours.

Begin seeking what your special gifts are that God has given you.  You may be surprised at what His plans are for you.

TAKE TIME TO GROW

RUSH

I was scrolling through instagram this morning when I came across a quote that I love.  “I’ve learned to stop rushing things that need time to grow.”  We all are always in a rush, wanting things to happen immediately.  But something’s grow gradually and not all of a sudden.  Think of a tree or a flower.  Once planted it takes time for it to take root, sprout and grow.  It doesn’t happen over night.  Some plants take days or even months.  There are some trees that take years to reach their full potential.  At times we must just sit back and let things grow.

God will help us grow just like a plant.  He gives us the potential to develop into what He wants us to become.  Many times we must leave the familiar, safe and secure in order to step into another level of growth.  Out of our comfort zone leads to the largest growth.  When we put our trust in the Lord we will have the personally growth that will fulfill Gods’ call in our lives.

In the bible Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Daniel and Paul all stepped out of their comfort zones to grow for God. The work of these men didn’t happen over night.  Some of them grew very old before they understood the work they were doing.  They weren’t rushed; they weren’t in a hurry they knew it was going to take time.  They were works in progress for God.

By studying His word and the people of the bible you will never have to wonder or worry about what to do next or when you will have your next growth spurt.  The word of God is the fuel that feeds and nourishes our souls to reach even higher.   “To grow you must be willing to let your present and future be totally unlike your past.  Your history is not your destiny. “ (Alan Cohen)

Root your self with God, sprout and grow.  It may be a slow process, but it will be worth it.
